Calling New Yorkers!
I don't know how many of you know about this, but I just heard about it on NPR this morning.
The StoryCorps national oral history project has a special booth at New York City's Grand Central Terminal. "For $10, participants can bring relatives, friends or acquaintances to the booth. Trained "facilitators" will help record 40-minute sessions. Participants will keep a CD, and copies will be preserved at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress."
If I was in NY, I would go do this, but I can't, so go do it yourself. It's just regular folks being recorded for posterity. I think we need some of the not-so-regular folks who I count amongst my friends to be included.
