Long time no post

I'm getting ready to abandon the book of faces. I tend to spend time on Bluesky. I had pretty much forgotten about this place. But, I intend to make a home here and make like the LJ days but better.

Glad to hear it. Bluesky seems like an alternative to Twitter, not FB. I never Twitted, so shan't Bluesky. But here's getting a bit busier again...hope to see you around some! <3

We just got a nice Hexclad 12" hybrid pan & lid for xmas from the 'rents based on your & P's recommendation when you visited. :-)

Huge mess up just getting it. First they only sent the lid. Then eventually the pan, but by then we had returned home so the 'rents had to mail it. It's here now, and'll get used before long. *sigh*

But now it's here and it worked gangbusters for its initial outing: mushroom egg scramble, a fine supper!

I'm trying to BlueSky, but I'm struggling the same way I did with Twitter... I feel the need to "keep up" with everything, or almost everything, and that's not possible in the river of info format that is Twitter/BlueSky. Someone told me to just dip in when I can, soak up what is there, and then let it flow on without me, and I'm trying! But I don't know how well I can stick with it.

My completionist tendencies do not allow.

I satisfy my completionist needs with IG, and I've purposefully kept the # of folks I follow there low so can Like everything each day (thus letting me know what I've seen).

I want to abandon IG too, because they have the same TOS as fb. They've relaxed their protections on hate speech against the LGBTQ+ community. I don't want to support that. But, I follow a lot of artists there. Right now that's the only place they are, so I'm going to have to stay there for the moment to keep track of them and their work.

Finding ways to make the UI work for you (likes) is key!

Oh, yeah. That's no good. Cut down on the number of people you follow, or change your feed so you're not reading re-posts. That way you're not drinking from a fire-hose.
