I’m all moved in! And while I’m still physically exhausted, I’m not emotionally on the brink anymore.

I want to thank two darling ladies for all their hard work. StacyMcKenna and Elianiac please stand up and be acknowledged!

Stacy was my anchor to sanity Friday night. Her company while I packed and her help with the move was invaluable. I was pretty darn crabby, bitchy and impatient, but if she hadn’t been there I would have been a raving psycho bitch, the likes of which the resident boys have only had nightmares about. Stacy, you’re a trooper for having stayed up until two am helping out!

Elaine (and best Butler on the planet) was my problem solver on Saturday night. As I was finishing the last of the clean up on the old place she kept me company. Anytime I ran into a problem, she’d give me the answer. I was so out of brainpower, if she hadn’t been there, I just would have sat and cried.

The move was relatively without incident. Stacy got caught on a nail. I broke several nails. And Patch cut himself opening a bottle of wine. There were some bruised feelings due to overiflated egos (SushiCaddy and ExecutiveGoth – I’m sorry, I’m much saner when not over-stressed and over-hungry). And of course, Stacy and I managed to re-break my Grandmother’s vanity. Poor Patch managed to miss that part and nearly had a heart attack thinking that he had broken it himself. (I’m sorry honey – I love you!).

The highlight of the weekend was coming home Saturday night to the boys on the front porch, with a lit candle, a couple of bottles of wine, drunk and singing. Elaine and I promptly caught up with the drinking and spent the rest of the evening keeping the neighbors up with our off-key warbling.

Sunday was just go, go, go. I didn’t hold still from the time I got up. I was cleaning, putting stuff away. Getting in Caddy’s way while he tried to make breakfast. ExecutiveGoth and I went to Home Depot.

I’ve decided I don’t like that place. It’s too big. There’s no service. And their stuff is way to general. I only found half of what I needed. And I know that some of what I was looking for exists at OSH. I think for the most part I’ll be going to OSH or Virgil’s (our local hardware store) for stuff. Of course, Home Depot is terribly convenient. It’s all of three blocks from the house, so we’ll see how long my resolve holds out.

So, we still have a lot to do before the house becomes functional. And even more to do before the house is decent. But I’m looking forward to it, even if exhaustion becomes a permanent state for me.
