My family just sent me this. As most of you know I'm a liberal, pagan, hippie freak. Needless to say I disagree with the following. I thought it was fascinating that they should believe everyone feels the same.
***************

Here's your chance to let the media know where the people stand on our

faith in God, as a nation. NBC is taking a poll on "In God We Trust" to

stay on our American currency. Please send this to every Christian you

know so they can vote on this important subject. Please do it right

away, before NBC takes this off the web page.

Poll is still open so you can vote.

This is not sent for discussion, if you agree forward it, if

you don't, delete it.

By me forwarding it, you know how I feel. I'll bet this

was a surprise to NBC.

Needless to say, I voted as opposed to just deleting it. I guess I'm a rebel. I will also be responding. I have an essay somewhere on the whole in God we trust thing. And I believe that discussion is important.

In terms of the way you relate to people, you are keen to please. Your writing style (based on a recent public entry) is conventional.

But someone gave me an asshat reply, so I answered him. (and no, I have no idea who this man is..)

Wow. If you don't like an email maybe just delete it. I delete all kinds of liberal, green and other other garbage people send
me and don't feel compelled to lecture others about it. I think since 76.5% (159 million) of Americans identify themselves as
Christian that keeping "In God We Trust" would be something popular and important to the vast majority of Americans.
Many of us get tired of the seeing a very small minority in this country trying to remove God and religion from society when
it has been part of our country for hundreds of years.

"some doubts as to his Divinity; tho' it is a question I do not dogmatize upon, having never studied it, and think it needless
to busy myself with it now" Maybe you should study before you speak?

Have a great day.

Hi Greg,

I normally do ignore emails I don't agree with, but I felt in this case I should take a stand for the things I believe (as the email implied). Again, I said in my original email I believe that education and having an awareness of our history is important, so I sought to enlighten others.

Also in regards to your final comment, that quote came from Benjamin Franklin, not from myself.

Thank you for your participation in this discussion.
