I just ended up paying $65 to the city on a ticket I never should have gotten in the first place.

I got ticketed $30 for parking in a 30 minute/green zone, that is not posted. It also happens to have been painted by the business owner and not the city. Therefore, it is not a legitimate spot.

When I first saw the ticket on my windsheild in January, I knew I was going to fight it, so I wanted it left on my car while I took pictures. The next morning I went to take pictures and lo and behold the ticket was gone. *poof* I took pictures anyway.

Later that month, I called the city about another parking ticket (really I'm not that bad, I just forgot that December 24 is not a holiday and there would be street cleaning). At that point, I asked if they had another ticket on record for me, so I could tell them I wanted to fight it. The guy told me there was just the one.

At the beggining of this month, I got a notice from the city telling me I had a delinquent parking ticket. So here it was again. I took the ticket to the office so I could call and let them know I was going to fight. So, I pull it out today (cause I lag) only to find out the damn due date was 2 days ago. If you're going to fight a ticket you have to let them know BEFORE the due date.

Now I'm out $65 and it's my own damn fault.

I used to have a friend in league with the devil (she was a parking nazi) and she said they have a quota of people to molest each week, and they're also not likely to tell ya something if it means they loose money from it. *bastards* At least we can feel comfort in the knowledge that unlike them, people don't hate us on principle!
