My D'Artagnion is at the vet. He's been there since Saturday morning. He's got a blockage in his urinary tract.

They catheterized him during the weekend. He got better. They removed the catheter yesterday and this morning he had another blockage. So, they've catheterized him again. They'll leave him like that for the next 24hours.

If it happens again, they'll have to perform surgery.

The doctor told me all of this this morning. Then he says: come visit him and tells me they close at 6pm. Since I have to work until 5:30, I figure I'll go on my lunch hour.

I went at lunch only to be told they don't allow visitors between noon and two because there is no one there. Why the fuck didn't he tell me that?! I spent my entire lunch hour driving home to go spend 5 minutes with my cat!

I sat in my car and sobbed for about a minute. I'm going to ask my boss if she'll let me go early, so I can see my Dar-baby.

Ooooh. *Hugz* So sorry to hear this. My Fargo's had two (major) operations for stone-removal to prevent/decrease the possibility of this sorta thing...and he's doing fine now (several years later). Thinking good thoughts about you and your l'il one...

Yowza! No. Fargo's surgeries were to go in and remove the stones/crystals from his tummy so they wouldn't make their way into his urethtra in the first place. Mebbe your vet's suggesting some fancy new treatment. Hey, Stacy's sis is a vet, mebbe she knows more 'bout what your vet's suggesting. They DID cost around (over actually) $1K each, THAT much I remember (hadn't used that credit card in a while so they called to confirm 'twas really my charge). My heart goes out to you...
