Overall, I seem to be ending this year with heartbreak. Just reviewing things has made me sad. While I’ve had many good things happen this year, I’ve also lost my home and my family. I know it seems like such a stupid little thing, but moving out of the Neighbor of the Beast really hurt. It wasn’t just a place. It was home. In moving, I lost [livejournal.com profile] deviantgrrrl, Troll Heather and even [livejournal.com profile] sushicaddy & [livejournal.com profile] executivegoth who moved out earlier. My family has been spread to the four winds and while they are still by some extension part of my life, things will never be the same.

1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
Break a bed. *grin*

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I apparently was too frustrated and busy to make one last year. I think I will. I have to review my goals and see what is most important to me, that I am not doing right now.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No, that was last year.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not close, but I had two aunts and an uncle on my father’s side go this year.

5. What countries did you visit?
Mexico

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
A new car?

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I’m no good with dates.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Finally getting a job that pays well.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not being able to keep my home/household together.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Not really.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Shoes?

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Most of my friends.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
My old landlord, ex-roomates & ex-boss.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent (1/3)

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
I don’t recall.

16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
*snerk* I’m not that much of a music person.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder?
A little bit sadder

ii. thinner or fatter?
Fatter – my comfy jeans don’t fit. :-(

iii. richer or poorer?
A little bit richer (financially) and a lot richer because of the people in my life.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Spent more time with friends.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Stressing out.

20. How much did you spend on Christmas?
Not much.

No, just more deeply in love.

24. What was your favourite TV program?
Battle Star Galactica

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Hate? That’s a really strong word. I’m more deeply disappointed in some folks than I was last year.

26. What was the best book you read?
I’ve read many good books.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
See #16

28. What did you want and get?
Not a fair question.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I had a party - 37

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Having my chosen family for Christmas. Not being able to open stockings in front of our pathetic little firplace and argue about the Christmas tree, left me wanting.

Clothed.

34. What kept you sane?
My friends.

39. A valuable lesson you learned in 2006:
I learned various things about moving, detailed here: http://nightrythm.livejournal.com/87055.html

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
Again, see #16

You are definitely on my #37 and #38, which are long and full of wonderful people I don't spend nearly enough time with. You and Patch need to come down and visit again. Did I mention rum tasting?
