When I went to Morrocco a few years ago, I bought Kohl so that I could be more period in my costuming when I wore my middle-eastern's at faire. I've recently found out that the FDA has imposed a ban on the import of Kohl due to lead content. *Eeep!*

Anyone know how I can get my Kohl powder tested for lead? 'Cause you know, I'd like to keep using it, but if it's poision... well, no es bueno.

CA's program (focused on paint) offers contact infor for testing resources. Most labs will cost $25-$50 per test. There are apparently hardware store kits that will test for lead, but they are a binary present/absent result, not a graduated "ok/unhealthy" type of test.
