OMG!

Patch took my truck in to the shop for me today. And wow, am I in some trouble.

oil pan gasket,
transmission pan gasket
Power Steering leak
radiator hoses and fittings
thermostat assembly leaking
*radial arm bushing (part of the suspension)
*front brakes (and rotors)
*front tires
general tune up and oil change (oli filter fuel filter air filter spark plugs and wires etc..)
muffler and tail pipe

official estimate is $2060.00

Two thousand fucking dollars?!!!!

Yeah, that's the plan.

Today they're fixin my brakes and the bushings. Then I bring my baby home to sit in the driveway until the next paycheck. So I guess, every two weeks for the next several month's she'll be in the shop. *sigh* But, when that's all done. I'll actually get her regularly taken care of.

I need a better paying job. *grump*

i have two mechanics who are honest, cheap, and do good work. the better of the two is, of course, down here in OC, but Steve up in Venice comes with the recommendation of *two* teamsters ;-)

I'm actually really happy with this guy. I know a few folks that use him. It's just the $70/hr in labor that's killing me. But, it's for good work, so *shrug*.

Money is something I'm expecting from my family. Friends should not give money. I have no problem being infinitely practical with what I get from my folks. But my friends "no tienen dinero" anyway.
