this is the problem with livejournal, we all think we are so close, and we know nothing about each other. i want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. then post this in your livejournal and find out what people don't know about you

Boober introduced me to Patch's girlie at the time, so I could have a girl to flirt with. And well, with her came Patch. We've been friends for quite a whilem through various relationships. We eventually started hanging out a lot and well...

What I want for my birthday? Friends at my party, mostly. Of course, I'll take CD's, DVD's, books and oodles of admiration. *g*

And my second wish is that Bush not be elected to a second term. That, or world peace in general, but it seems so trite.

Letsee, born in Peru, came to LA, lived in SD, Santa Maria, Portland, Seattle (all briefly). Lived in Davis a couple of years. Boston 1 year. DC two years. I've been in LA since the fifth grade. Lived in Lynwood (think south/east LA), Downey, Westwood, Highland Park, Hollywood, Eagle Rock, and now Glendale. Somewhere in the middle of that I lived in upstate NY for the coldest 8 months of my life. And on Palomar Mountain (San Diego) for another 8 or so.
My paternal grandmother was mostly German, by way of Portland, Oregon. Shw always told me that her mom said they were "Mulligan stew" - a little bit of everything. The were English, Scots-Irish etc.
All my other grandparents are Mexican. Which means they have Spanish, Totonaco, Tarumara (sp?), and Chiricawa Apache along with the high possibility of some African blood.
And for the record, I look like my Dad's Mom's family. *smile* That's why you can't see the Mexican.
Yes, I want to get married. I want to raise children. I'm still a little iffy about having them myself. Which is kinda ironic with my wanting to be a midwife and all. But we'll see what cards the universe deals out.
Neighbors of sorts
Re: Neighbors of sorts
My father was Deputy Assistant Attourney General of the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department during the Carter administration.
We had a cute tudor house in Maryland, just accross the street from Sidwell Friends and my elemtary school. My mom and I came back to LA early, but my Dad moved to Adams Morgan and I got to spend some vacation out there.
I really liked Adams Morgan. I wasn't aware (I don't think) of the dangers of the neighborhood. To me it was just a really eclectic ethnic neighborhood with great food and neat people.
The best part about living in DC was spending my holidays (days off from school) wandering around the Smithsonian Museums while my dad was at work.
