Patch and I are going to DC next month. We're gonna visit my Daddy and catch the opening of the new Native American Museum on the mall.

I've lived there and visited a lot. When I visit I tend to like to do some of the same things and maybe some interesting road trips. Patch wants to do some "touristy" things. So, aside from the Smithsonian (we've got that covered) what do you recommend?

Like the Smithsonian's various buildings won't take a week? Just hitting all the sites on the mall would take me a couple days, much less actually going into the museum spaces!

Great falls is a nice free thing outside. They reopened the bridge to one of the islands and the views are very scenic.

I love the hard times cafe, but the chili was lousy the last time I went.

The Baltimore inner harbor is also a worthwhile trip (and the aquarium there was always cool with the rain forest on the roof), especially if thrasher's french fries are still there. I'm salivating thinking about them right now.

As a guy, he could probably spend a day at the air and space museum by itself.

Man, I'm remembering so many things about back "home"... but nothing else really concrete enough to describe. I hope you two have tons of fun.
