I've had a migraine since yesterday. I had it when I went to bed and then woke up in the middle of the night because I was *dreaming* I had a headache.

Now I feel like my face is imploding from the eyes. It doesn't hurt as much as it just feels like my face is folding in on itself. Then theres a risidual layer of pain along my scalp and I can feel my neck and shoulders tightening by the minute. And last but not least, my stomach is doing slow summersaults.

I may go home and call this day done.

I received a piece of advice from Wolf, a fellow migraine sufferer. He said that, when all other pain killers fail, he finds that Alka Seltzer works. It's some combination of it being liquid and fizzy, perhaps, but for whatever reason, it kicks his migraine pain when nothing else will.

Thought you might want to give it a try.

when I have a migraine that sticks around for more than a week (have had some that lasted over a month...ugh) I drink gin martinis and then sleep...I wake up refreshed and feeling like myself.

When you can, of course, but if you can get Patch to take you while this one's still going, there are new migraine arrestor injections, and failing that, pain/sedative combos that will at least knock you out.

I've been dealing with migraines since 16, and never thought any Rx would work on mine. A few years ago, I tried again, and found the right med. It doesn't always work, but it often does. I'm on Midrin (or the generic, as they no longer sell Midrin proper in the states). This is after trying everything else. I was an early patient on Imitrex when it was injectable only. Have you ever tried to find a vein with a migraine and halos? I don't recommend it, especially if the meds delivered don't work on you at all.

In any case, take care of you, and *hugs*.

J and I have been dealing with headaches today/yesterday. The folk we were hanging out with tonight had both been struggling with headaches today/yesterday. Apparently they're going around? I blame the weather.

I hope it's cleared up now and doesn't become a regular occurrence.
