There is so much I want to do.

I just finished a baby blanket for Cat and Bryn. Any day now I'm going to finish my fingerless gloves. I'm still working on Patch's fucking blanket.

I really want to get started on deconstructing my grandmother's shawl. I've got some really great ideas on things I can do with when making it, to make it "contemporary" and give it my own twist. This is a huge project that has to run parallel to everything else. I need to find a source for yards ans yards of embroidery floss.

I want to make one in red with black as the accent color. I want to do another for me in a peacock varigated with either blue or green as the accent color. My grandmother always made hers one color, baby blue, cick yellow or white. There are so many great yarns availabe these days I can really have fun with it. I'd kind of like to make these a signature piece to be given to my cousins when they graduate. Of course I have to find something for the boys so they don’t feel left out.

I have three "quick" projects I need to do. Bryn wants an ear flap hat for the baby. I already have a pattern, but need to buy yarn. It's pretty much something I can whip out in a weekend. I also need to make baby gifts for my cousin and her 18 year old step daughter. Both are pregnant. I'm thinking maybe a toy or stuffed animal. My cousin is having a girl so I'm tempted to make a cute dress or hat. A dress is not so quick, so maybe not.

Plus there's all the pretties I want to make for myself. I've got so much on my wishlist, but I think a new cardigan has to come first.

We certainly wouldn't want Patch's-fucking-blanket to leave him undraped!

yards and yards of embroidery floss as in an entire cone of the stuff (which is how most kit manufacturers get their floss), or just buying the 9-yd skeins in bulk numbers? Or would crochet thread be better suited to the project?

Herrschner's carries a wide variety of crochet thread, but I would ask the hookers on Rav for comparisons with embroidery floss as I'm inexperienced working with crochet threads (I'm still trying to figure out the sizing conventions, much less fiber sheen!).

You could also try Nordic Needle - they carry a ridiculous number of fibers.

I have a hard copy catalog from both of them if that would be easier on your brain.

I *totally* understand that. It is the worst part about finding new products in niche categories.
