Once more with feeling!

I've been listening to the soundtrack for Once More With Feeling (Buffy musical ep) and suddenly I have this intense need to watch Buffy again.

I'm finding I have holes in my memory. I know Dawn was a weapon, so they hid her by making her. But how was that resolved? Was that why Buffy died? I don't remember and I want to know *argh*.

Of course, I also really want to watch that ep again. *sigh*

Dawn wasn't a weapon, she was a key. Glory - the Hell Goddess - needed Dawn in order to open up the door back to her home hell dimension. That was resolved in the season finale when Glory (or her accomplice, Doc (the demon that helped Dawn bring Joyce back from the dead)) actually manage to use Dawn to open the gateway. Buffy ended up sacrificing her own life to save Dawn's by jumping into the portal and closing it, as Dawn and Buffy are made from the same stuff, and since Dawn's blood opened the gateway, only her blood could close it again. Hence, Buffy's blood. That's how she died.

Was that why Buffy died?

Yeah. She sacrificed herself to save the world.

I have all of the seasons on DVD. Also, all of Angel save the final season (It's not out on DVD until mid-February) If you want to borrow any of them, just let me know :) *hugs*
