Update

Patch and I have discussed the parameters of our relationship, confirming boundaries etc. Also, Caddy helped me work through the jumble of fears caused by overthinking that often happen in my head. I feel much better now.

Plus, I went out with Vegas Crush Girl (VCG) on Friday night and had a good time. *grin* She works part time at a flower shop. I suspect, I'll be getting a lot of flowers. Egads, I *really* *really* like being courted.

In my opinion open relationships are an acknowlegement that your heart has room for more than one. An open relationship is also a testament to the commitments and strenght of the primary relationship. The commitment of, I love you and I'm not going anywhere has to be strong to deal with outside influences.

*gah* I'm not explaining very well. But suffice it to say, my opinion on open relationships has some standing. I've been in a triad before and got burned badly. So I had some fear aftern that relationship ended.

I have faith in Patch and I have faith in me. Our relationship is not going to disintegrate because I'm occasionally of making out and whatnot with some woman. If our relationship fails, it is because we failed to communicate, to hold our love strong, or to have the same dreams.

thats awesome for you, i mean, you seem to have it all figured out... i on the other hand- can't even date one guy let alone a man and a woman at the same time! this coming from a girl who "can't hold her man" and is destined to forever be the spinster "crazy cat lady". sigh.

i look back at my past relationships and although not perfect, i wonder why i don't have those same bonds now. its so confusing!

i guess i'll just have to stick with casual encounters for now and hope for the best. boo.

Here's a little unsolicited advice. You have to know yourself, love yourself and know your heart. Above all, know what you want in a relationship and don't settle.

When I ended up with Patch - I recognized that I was healed enough to have a relationship. I wanted someone in my life who would be there for the rest of my life. I wanted a friend who would understand me and love me for who I am. While he doesn't always understand me, he will listen and accepts me.

I'd like to add though, just because you've got a good relationship doesn't make it poly. It's not for everyone and *both* parties have to agree to it. Don't ever agree reluctantly either, you'll be in a world of hurt.
