There is some great reading this week on twoheadedcat.com, including my column if I may be so bold.

...every time you do this, I have to actually bother typing. Typing takes effort. If I'm going to bother, I may as well do bunches, like now.

Just a link, that's all I ask. http://www.twoheadedcat.com/ just like that. You don't even have to get fancy and do "Check out twoheadedcat.com, and don't forget my column."

Good column. I found myself reflected in some of those sentiments -- like never seeming to find your way out of debt no matter how hard you try, and dammit, we deserve a vacation and really should take one one of these days (maybe next summer?)

I grew up in a very "we can't afford it" atmosphere. Mom grew up poor so that was her default position, even though we were a bit better off than I ever realized (the avalanche of gifts every Christmas should have been a giveaway). Dad also grew up poor, but believed that "money is for spending" though he usually tempered that with a healthy dose of practicality and allowing Mom to have her way on such matters.

So it wasn't as bad a hardship as it could have been when I found I literally couldn't afford anything. Y'know, when buying brand name soda pop is a bit of a luxury.

But someday soon...

Hope you enjoy Disneyworld; everyone should go at least once.
