Funny, Ash Wednesday winds up being the service I get to least consistently... (though yes, the ritual of it has always been striking/moving).
And yes, I find voluntary participation is crucial, and then the service seems to strike so many chords I have trouble keeping track of them all (I've actually taken to writing NOTES during the homily!).
Starting with in January, I want to have full moon teas at my house. Not so much with the formalized ritual, more just a group of women getting together for tea.
This is a lovely look at people's need for ritual in daily life. Thank you for sharing it. It's been on my mind lately as we have been looking at ritual in one of my classes.
What would you think about me printing the article for the class to see. We had a really nice chapter to look at but a personal story focusing on ritual was sadly lacking.
